Zeta Psi’s Commitment to Action
Zeta Psi condemns the intolerable murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Regis Korchinski-Paquet, and all those named and unnamed that have lost their lives due to racism.
Black Lives Matter.
Zeta Psi’s international brotherhood seeks to play a part in the eradication of racism and violence toward all Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). We can start by directing our shared outrage into tangible action – we call on every Zeta Psi member and chapter to be a part of the solutions in our communities.
We, the brothers of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Zeta Psi, believe that people from all races should be treated with love and compassion. Diversity has always been a key part of what makes our brotherhood strong, and we believe members of society could benefit from loving everyone as a brother. For that reason, we unequivocally condemn all acts of racism and bigotry. We stand with our brothers of color amid the hate that continues to plague our country. However, Zeta Psi – Alpha Epsilon also realizes that words are meaningless without action. Throughout the summer, into the Fall semester, and beyond, education on racial injustice and disparity will be incorporated into membership development. These conversations are important to have year-round (not just after a tragedy), and it is our goal to ensure our members are all part of the solution. Additionally, we will encourage our brothers as well as friends of Zeta Psi – Alpha Epsilon to find ways to financially contribute towards causes that support victims of injustice.
Please Consider donating to Campaign Zero – A research-based organization focused on limiting police interventions, improving community interactions, and ensuring accountability. Together, we can stop racial injustice around the world. Zeta Psi- Alpha Epsilon will run the fundraiser from February 14th to March 14th, 2021 – we would love your support, and your donation to aid us in making a difference.
